Vaccines

The Vaccine Database will outline available and emerging sexual and reproductive health vaccines. There are currently no MPT vaccines, though vaccine technology does provide opportunities for MPTs. This resource outlines key product delivery and manufacturing information and provides links for further information. The vaccines will be displayed according to availability and closeness to realization.

Although HPV and HBV vaccines are commercially available, there are no existing multipurpose vaccines for sexual and reproductive health. In contrast, there are many examples of multipurpose vaccines in pediatrics (e.g MMR, DTaP/OPV). Inclusion in the MPT vaccine database requires that candidates demonstrate through preclinical or clinical studies, that they meet one or more of the following advanced development criteria:

GMP formulated vaccine
GMP manufactured vaccine
GLP toxicology study
Primate safety and/or efficacy study
Prevent pathogen(s) transmission in at least one animal models
