The Full Scoop Initiative: Saving Lives Through Smarter Breast Health

The Challenge: Too Many Women, Too Late

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Yet the difference between life and death often comes down to a single factor: when it's found.

The stage at diagnosis is one of the strongest predictors of survival. When breast cancer is caught early and localized, the five-year relative survival rate reaches 99%. But when cancer spreads before detection, that rate plummets to just 31%.

The problem? Most women don't know they're at higher risk until it's too late.

Too few women at risk understand that effective early detection goes beyond an annual mammogram. It requires:

  • Understanding personal risk through comprehensive assessment, including genetic screening when appropriate

  • Accessing the full range of screening options — from clinical exams to advanced imaging tailored to individual risk

  • Coordinated care where healthcare teams and patients communicate effectively and nothing falls through the cracks

  • Evidence-based risk-reducing strategies that can prevent cancer before it develops

  • Equitable policies that make these critical steps accessible to all women.

The gap between what's possible and what's happening is costing lives. We're here to close it.

Our Vision and Mission

Our Vision: Every person at elevated breast cancer risk receives timely, evidence-informed, and equitable preventive care.

Our Mission: We transform how women at elevated risk experience breast health — from early risk recognition to informed, coordinated, and equitable care.

Our Approach

Three Integrated Pillars

  • Education for All Stakeholders: Building the foundation for informed, shared decision-making and action. We equip women, healthcare teams (including community health workers), advocates, and policymakers with accessible, evidence-based resources that translate complex risk information into actionable next steps.

  • Coordinated Care: Breaking down silos and connecting all stakeholders. We help support evidence-informed communication between patients, primary care providers, specialists, genetic counselors, and community navigators — so informed decisions turn into timely action and no one falls through the cracks.

  • Real-World Action: Driving structural transformation so that risk-informed, comprehensive, and equitable breast care becomes the standard — not the exception. We advocate for policies that support access, reimbursement, and care coordination across the entire breast health continuum.
